About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator position, reports to the Residue Supervisor and will also receive direction from the Lead Equipment Operator. The duties of an Equipment Operator include the safe and efficient operation of all equipment associated with the Residue System, Ferrous Recovery System, and the movement of material throughout the Facility. All system operational duties must be performed in accordance with established Residue Systems procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred – Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial heavy equipment such as Front -end Loader
  • Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
  • Position works a 12-hour night shift (rotating schedule covering both weekdays and weekends). 5 on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off-12 hours shift 5 pm to 5 am Training will take place on day shift. Must have flexibility to alternate schedules based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, such as: forklift, front end loader, skid steer, tanker truck, roll-off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and various hand tools
  • Traffic Control for incoming/outgoing traffic
  • Assist facility mechanic(s) with equipment repairs; taking appropriate action on their own initiative to prevent equipment damage or personnel injury.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, performing preventative maintenance tasks, assisting with, and performing minor equipment repair work, handling municipal solid waste and solid waste residue in accordance with standard operating procedures, and painting and cleaning as required.
