Requirements

  • Understanding of hydraulic systems, grade control technology, and machine maintenance.
  • OSHA10 (required)
  • DOT Medical Card (required)
  • Hoisting License (required)
  • Driver's License with clean record
  • Prior experience operating equipment.
  • 1+ year experience with Asphalt
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow orders, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • A sound understanding of health and safety codes.
  • A positive outlook and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Follow site plans and direction of Foreman as needed to accomplish daily project tasks including removal of existing asphalt, grading sites, site layout, curb setting, and more
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
  • Coordinates with crew members and truck drivers, using hand signals or radios to ensure proper material removal and loading
  • Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off or loading and unloading it.
  • Performing other construction duties as needed.
  • Promptly reporting all faults to the Supervisor or Foreman.
  • Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.
  • Attending meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required.
