About The Position

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group. Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience operating a skid steer and/or mini excavator in construction, landscaping, site prep, or related environments. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in safe, efficient work and can handle a variety of tasks on active job sites.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating a skid steer and/or mini excavator
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required
  • Ability to read site plans or follow verbal instructions
  • Strong understanding of job‑site safety practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, utilities, landscaping, or excavation
  • Ability to operate additional equipment (e.g., backhoe, loader, compactor)
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Operate skid steer and mini excavator for grading, trenching, backfilling, material handling, and general site work
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, cleaning)
  • Load and unload materials as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Assist crew members with ground labor when equipment operation is not required
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow
  • Report any equipment issues or hazards promptly
