Join our team as a lead Equipment Operator II for the Concrete Crew. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the City’s Right of Ways, operating a variety of equipment, and assisting in the pouring and finishing of concrete sidewalks and driveways.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 to 5 years of experience in concrete work or public works maintenance and repair
• Possession of a commercial driver’s license
• Flagging certificate from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Transportation
• Successful completion of criminal background and driving record checks

Responsibilities

• Operate Backhoes, Loaders, Dump Trucks, and other equipment
• Lead a group of laborers in maintenance tasks
• Assist in concrete pouring and finishing
• Supervise and train subordinate employees
• Maintain accurate records of work performed
• Perform snow removal and work overtime during special events or weather conditions
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive working relationships
