About The Position

The Equipment Manager is responsible for leading equipment reliability and maintenance operations within a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment supporting more than 300 pieces of production equipment and more than 100 employees. This role ensures maximum uptime, operational stability, and long-term asset performance while aligning with plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This position requires a strong leader capable of building and developing high-performing teams across multiple shifts. The Equipment Manager will drive reliability strategy, structured maintenance systems, CMMS optimization, workforce planning, safety compliance (including LOTO governance), budget control, and continuous improvement initiatives to sustain operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with disciplined execution, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with EHS, Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure equipment capability supports plant capacity and long-term growth.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or equipment engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in 24/7 operations
  • Strong experience implementing and managing CMMS platforms
  • Demonstrated ownership of LOTO programs and safety compliance
  • Proven track record improving uptime, reliability, and maintenance performance
  • Experience managing large equipment portfolios (200+ assets preferred)
  • Experience managing budgets and performance metrics

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy for 24/7 operations. Drive improvements in equipment uptime, lifecycle management, and long-term asset sustainability.
  • Own and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure accurate asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order discipline, data integrity, and reporting accuracy. Use CMMS data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Standardize planning and scheduling processes to ensure high schedule compliance and accountability.
  • Champion a safety-first culture across all maintenance activities. Ensure full compliance with OSHA standards, including strong understanding and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Lead periodic LOTO audits, training, and continuous improvement of energy control programs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop supervisors, planners, engineers, and technicians. Build organizational capability in reliability practices, maintenance planning, and safe work execution. Establish clear performance expectations and succession planning.
  • Own and report key performance indicators including OEE, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and work order backlog. Use structured root cause analysis and reliability tools to drive measurable improvement.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance operating budget. Control labor, spare parts, contractor services, and capital expenditures while ensuring equipment reliability and safety standards are maintained.
  • Establish a critical spare parts strategy aligned with production risk and asset criticality. Optimize inventory levels to balance reliability and working capital efficiency.
  • Support installation, ramp-up, and stabilization of new production lines and major upgrades. Ensure maintenance readiness through training, documentation, and CMMS integration.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align equipment performance with operational targets and production planning.
