About The Position

Equipment Maintenance Technician Position Summary: Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM 100% onsite (Kansas City) Catalent, Inc. is a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our large molecule analytical team has over 25 years of experience providing broad-based and orthogonal analytical CMC services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects. We provide support for drug substance, drug product, and intermediates for both innovator and biosimilar/biobetter products. Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician. This individual will be responsible for repair and preventative maintenance on environmental chambers, HVAC and refrigeration, lab/manufacturing equipment, ordering supplies and general facilities upkeep. You will be a key member in site success by ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required. Associate degree in HVAC or certificate desired
  • Three (3) years of experience in HVAC/refrigeration systems and laboratory workplace desired
  • One (1) year experience of motor controls and calibration/troubleshooting desired
  • Good mechanical aptitude required – use of hand tools daily
  • Basic electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills needed
  • Knowledge of Siemens (BMS) or BlueMountain/BMRAM system desired
  • Physical requirements: On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen frequently

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repair of environmental chambers.
  • Responding to and resolving Siemens (BMS) alarms
  • Ordering parts and materials, including supplies for shop. Work with suppliers and vendors outside of Catalent
  • Some fabrication, i.e. brazing, cutting, working with metals and Lexan / polycarbonate
  • Scheduling work with internal clients / end users. Scheduling and planning of contract Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) and other programs such as HEPTA testing
  • Maintenance coverage of all Biologics labs, as well as crossing over to other Catalent labs as needed
  • Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies via ComplianceWire, safety/OSHA, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
