About The Position

The Equipment Maintenance Technician III is a highly skilled, experienced maintenance professional who provides technical leadership and hands-on support to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of plant equipment, facilities, and grounds. This role plays a critical part in executing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, supporting capital projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Equipment Maintenance Technician III serves as a technical resource and mentor to maintenance team members, partners closely with operations and engineering, and helps ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex equipment issues while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance cost drivers (labor, parts, asset utilization) and how individual actions impact them.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and influence others without direct supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of industrial equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Execute and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities in partnership with operations and maintenance leadership.
  • Serve as a technical resource for maintenance team members, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce costs, improve safety, and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Support control and optimization of repair parts inventory to ensure availability while managing costs.
  • Assist in developing maintenance estimates and supporting capital appropriation requests.
  • Participate in the execution and support of capital improvement and equipment upgrade projects.
  • Coordinate with and support outside contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Drive machine reliability through disciplined use of work order systems, documentation, and maintenance best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and cost.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Provide technical input and problem-solving support to operations as issues arise.
  • Actively share knowledge and best practices to help develop less-experienced maintenance team members.
