About The Position

Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Equipment Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing production and store equipment. This role is hands-on and focused on mechanical repair, including mixers, scales, VCMs, slicers, and other food production machinery. The mechanic will diagnose issues, replace worn components, and keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs require.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience repairing industrial or production equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge of bearings, pulleys, belts, gears, and motors
• Experience replacing switches, heaters, and basic electrical components
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
• Comfortable using hand and power tools

Nice To Haves

• Welding experience a plus, not required
• HVAC or building maintenance experience

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment failures
• Replace bearings, pulleys, belts, gears, switches, heaters, and related components
• Assist with equipment tear-down and rebuilds as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery
• Determine whether equipment should be repaired or replaced
• Order and price out replacement parts
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude, ensuring that each customer feels welcome and appreciated.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store, offering assistance and support where needed.
• Improve and maintain the efficiency of the store in order to reach success.
• Be a positive ambassador for the store, representing our S.T.E.W. values in all interactions with customers and team members. You are the biggest WOW!
