About The Position

From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are seeking highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician with expertise in preventative maintenance and repairs of electro-mechanical equipment and devices. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our solar array production equipment, serving as the primary point of contact for all equipment maintenance in that area. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical knowledge, capable of troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing electro-mechanical systems to maximize efficiency and uptime. Shift Hours: (4x10hrs) 2nd shift: 5:00pm - 3:30am PST (Wed - Sat) A day in the life This position will work side by side with Engineering and Production teams to develop creative solutions and take this program from R&D, though design validation, into production then maintain equipment to support operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Experience with preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls, and industrial electronics & robotics
  • Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
  • Experience reviewing and understanding engineering design documents for electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assembly drawings of products
  • Knowledge of PLC based controls systems
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design
  • Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Experience in troubleshooting installation, fault finding, and repairs
  • Familiar with Lock out Tag Out(LOTO) devices and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, test, and maintain robotic and automated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to unplanned maintenance requests promptly to minimize production downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues using technical documents such as blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Work with PLC systems at a basic or advanced level to troubleshoot and optimize equipment functionality.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic assemblies and related components.
  • Analyze technical specifications of mechatronic systems, including subsystems, modules, and components, to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform scheduled, predictive, and preventative maintenance to proactively identify and prevent potential failures.
  • Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills to systematically diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals and literature to understand system operations and collaborate with other technicians.
  • Install, repair, adjust, and test machinery and components to ensure proper system functionality.
  • Communicate with machine operators and actively monitor equipment to detect and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment while operating and servicing equipment.
  • With or without reasonable accommodations, must be willing and able to work with powered lift equipment – for example forklift or scissor lifts.
  • Valid Driver’s license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria.
  • With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
