Our Cardiovascular team develops leading solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke, contributing to continually elevating standards of care for stroke, heart failure and atrial fibrillation (AFib) patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in equipment design or tooling
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software (SolidWorks) to design & draft mechanical assemblies
  • Good communication skills combined with an analytical minded, critical thinking, imaginative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in the use of SAP
  • Knowledge of PDM system and GD&T Best Practices.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to gain cooperation of others and lead team members

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in medical device manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Generation of equipment designs which meet manufacturing, safety, and performance requirements. Designs include new tooling, fixtures, and modification/upgrades for new and existing products.
  • Providing technical leadership on equipment related product and process issues.
  • Analyze designs using solid models and drawings with Computer Aided Design (“CAD”) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (“GD&T”), and stack-up analyses.
  • Co-ordinate activities for team members
  • Required to take a lead role in the design of the equipment from concept to deployment.
  • Ensure documentation/drawing standards for equipment meet company SOP requirements.
  • As part of the design team, this person is be expected to work closely with both internal and external specialists to complete equipment related projects.
  • Actively participate in team and plant continuous improvement through participation in Value Improvement Projects and Lean Production Process Projects etc.
  • Ability to critically review engineering designs and ensure adherence to company design and development guidelines and SOPs.
  • Uses experience to make judgments and propose different solutions outside of set parameters.
  • Using prior experience and on-the-job training to solve more challenging tasks.
  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
