About The Position

Ultimately responsible for supporting the Equine Maintenance Department with a variety of tasks and job duties. Adheres to all Horseshoe Indianapolis service and operating standards. Maintains, coordinates and prioritizes the administrative workflow associated with the Equine Maintenance Staff.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Horse Racing Commission license
  • Ability to work under pressure in extreme temperatures (hot or cold)
  • Must be a Team Player, while also being able to complete tasks independently
  • Willing to complete overtime as needed
  • Current valid driver’s license (Preferred)
  • Experience with heavy equipment such as Loader, Bobcat, Forklift, Tractor, Dump Truck, Lift, etc. (Preferred)
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing steps and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment.
  • The Team Member is subject to outdoor weather and elements thereof.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Landscaping, mulching, weeding, mowing across the entire property
  • Planting and Pulling of trees and plants
  • Snow removal & salt laying
  • All trash removal from the backside and frontside of the track
  • Manure removal
  • Barn repairs such as leaky faucets or hoses
  • Repairs to horse stalls when damaged by the animals
  • Strip out and replace/ maintain the horse stalls
  • Strip out and replace/ maintain the hot walkers for the horses
  • Community projects
  • Painting dorm rooms & offices
