About The Position

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for a high energy Equestrian Private Lesson Instructor to join our summer equestrian operations! The Equestrian Private Lesson Instructor is responsible for all aspects of private horsemanship lessons including preparation, instruction, and administration of the lessons and assisting with care of the horses. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners and employees. Ensures all staff meet or exceed the highest level of guest service in the performance of their duties. Maintain current knowledge of Western and English horseback riding styles. Ability to instruct adult and children students on horseback riding, safety, and care of horses. Ability to mount, ride and guide horses. Ability to train or school horses as needed. Organize lesson paperwork including signing up customers, confirming reservations and recording details of classes. Clean corrals, arena, restrooms and tack room as directed.   • Required equestrian experience to include working with and caring for horses (feeding, grooming, barn cleaning, implementing horse programs, medical attention, etc.)
  • Must love being active and outdoors and love horses.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and one to three months related experience and/or training with teaching adults and children, Western and English horseback riding styles; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications are recommended.
