About The Position

The role of the IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to success criteria, agreed-upon deadlines, and within budget. This includes risk identification and management of internal resources, coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party resources to deliver projects according to plan. This role will oversee and coordinate Enterprise Change Management projects from start to finish, develop detailed plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely, within-budget delivery. The IT Project Manager will support business outcomes through effective change management and communication strategies.

Requirements

  • Combinations of relevant education and/or project management experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT project management, focusing on large, complex projects within an ePMO or PMO environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (i.e., OnePlan, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps).
  • General knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations, SDLC, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Technical competence with software programs (MS Office, ERPs, CRMs).
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility during times of change; reacts promptly and efficiently to project adjustments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to read communication styles across diverse disciplines.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating; able to elicit cooperation from various sources.
  • Skilled in defusing tension and bringing projects to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and research skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Effective at prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or certification in Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Certification or progress towards Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred and encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Intake project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assist in defining project success criteria and communicating them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate project-related meetings (i.e., standups, executive readout, project status, change management, etc.)
  • Develop project plans consistent with project management best practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Plan schedule timelines, milestones, and resources to achieve project goals.
  • Track and report on project milestones and deliverables to IT management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, risks, and issues.
  • Devise contingency and recovery plans.
  • Create and implement recommended project retrospective feedback.
  • Work directly with executive sponsors, corporate leaders, and project teams to ensure successful project completions.
  • Maintains relevant procedures and directions. This includes, but is not limited to, handbooks, manuals, tools, and templates.
  • Works independently and requires minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts for direction to the project team.
  • Support continuous improvement of best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships essential to project success.
  • Advocate and support Enterprise Change Management.
  • Participate in the maturity of EPMO and its improvement.
  • Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to understand project goals, objectives, and requirements.
  • Translate user requirements into clear functional and/or non-functional requirements for the project team.
  • Create and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Document stakeholder assessment, communication plan, and training plan.
  • Support best practices in project planning and management.
