About The Position

The Epidemiologist on the Infection Control Team is responsible for safeguarding public health by preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases within the community. This role focuses on disease surveillance, data analysis, outbreak detection, and the implementation of evidence-based control measures in collaboration with healthcare facilities, public health professionals, and community partners. The position requires on-call availability to address urgent public health concerns and active involvement in outbreak response activities, including field investigations and coordination with local, state and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in applied epidemiology, preferably in communicable disease or infection prevention.

  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
