The Epic IT Capability team delivers system build, configuration, and ongoing support for multiple Market Performance Partners (MPPs) within the Optum Insight Information Technology organization. The team is responsible for supporting Epic Patient Access applications, including registration, scheduling, admission, transfer, and discharge, ensuring system functionality aligns with operational, regulatory, and business requirements. As a System Management Analyst on the Patient Access team, this role partners with vendors, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to analyze existing Epic system configurations, gather and document business requirements, and design new or enhance Epic build to optimize, standardize, and automate workflows in support of operational needs. The analyst plays a key role in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of Epic solutions for Owensboro Health (Kentucky). Solid expertise in Epic, workflow analysis, and problem-solving is essential to the success of enterprise EHR initiatives. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: Epic System Configuration and Maintenance: Responsible for translating clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications and executing system configuration changes to meet defined needs. Designs and implements technical solutions to support both foundational and custom workflows, while ensuring adherence to established governance processes, approval protocols, and organizational standards Workflow Analysis and Optimization: Demonstrates the ability to learn and assess new and existing workflows to identify technical solutions and optimization opportunities that enhance the end user experience. This includes observing end users in operational settings, identifying process inefficiencies, redesigning workflows, and collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to improve usability, efficiency, and overall system performance End-User Collaboration and Technical Support: Provides end user support through effective troubleshooting grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the Epic system and its operational context. Analyzes and diagnoses complex technical issues, communicates solutions clearly to non technical stakeholders, and resolves issues efficiently to minimize disruption to daily workflows and support continuity of patient care. This position is fully remote and includes a requirement to participate in after-hours on-call rotation, occurring approximately one week every 5-7 weeks.
