We are currently seeking a Epic Infrastructure Architect - Remote to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US). An Epic Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core infrastructure that supports the entire Epic ecosystem. This role ensures the environment is scalable, high-performing, secure, and aligned with Epic's strict technical and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Design and Architecture Planning:
  • Design the overall architecture for Epic environments, including production, non-production, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure alignment with Epic's system specifications for compute, storage, network, virtualization, and backup.
  • Architect for scalability, high availability (HA), and fault tolerance, especially for critical components like Hyperspace, Chronicles, and Web BLOBs.
  • Epic Environment Implementation and Lifecycle Management:
  • Oversee the deployment of Epic environments (PRD, TST, DEV, POC, etc.), ensuring proper sizing and configuration.
  • Develop standards and processes for environment refreshes, version upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Manage physical and virtual infrastructure builds supporting Epic components (including Clarity, Caboodle, Interconnect, etc.).
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Establish and maintain monitoring solutions for key infrastructure layers (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network latency, etc.).
  • Work proactively to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Epic TS and internal teams to tune systems for optimal performance.
  • Security, Compliance, and Disaster Recovery:
  • Ensure infrastructure complies with HIPAA, HITRUST, and internal security standards.
  • Architect and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans for all Epic systems.
  • Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, and role-based access control (RBAC) for infrastructure components.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration and Strategic Planning:
  • Act as a technical liaison between Epic application teams, server/storage/network teams, and leadership.
  • Provide infrastructure guidance for Epic-related projects, upgrades, and go-lives.
  • Stay up to date with Epic's System Pulse requirements and help align internal roadmaps with Epic's evolving infrastructure recommendations
