About The Position

An Epic Billing Analyst is a healthcare IT professional specializing in the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, focusing specifically on billing and revenue cycle functions.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Epic's Resolute Professional Billing or Hospital Billing modules, including charge router, work queue configuration, collection agency workflows, statement processing, and claims processing operations.
• Analytical and Problem -Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, including IT teams, clinicians, billing staff, and vendors.
• Project Management Skills: Ability to lead meetings, prioritize tasks, resolve conflicts, maintain issue lists, and manage project plans.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to documentation, system configuration, and data integrity.
• Healthcare IT Knowledge: Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, clinical workflows, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Nice To Haves

• Experience: Minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in supporting healthcare information systems, particularly in a hospital billing environment, is often preferred or required. Experience with Epic or similar healthcare applications is beneficial.
• Certification: Epic certification in relevant modules, such as Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) or Professional Billing (PB), is highly preferred and may be required by some employers, according to ZipRecruiter. Obtaining certification within a certain timeframe (e.g., six months of employment) may also be a requirement.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and project management tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• System Configuration and Optimization: Configure and maintain Epic's Resolute Professional Billing or Hospital Billing module to manage charges, benefit engines, claims, and payment processors.
• Workflow Analysis and Improvement: Analyze workflows, data collection, and report details to identify areas for improvement and implement application solutions.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Act as a primary support contact for end -users, resolving application issues and providing technical assistance.
• Implementation and Upgrades: Lead or participate in the implementation of new systems or features, support system upgrades, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ICD -10).
• Collaboration and Communication: Liaise between the IT department, billing office, finance, and other stakeholders to tailor systems to meet organizational needs.
• Testing and Documentation: Design, build, test, and document system changes and workflows.
• Reporting and Data Analysis: Develop and generate reports to extract and analyze healthcare data.
• Training: Collaborate with trainers on application changes and new features to develop training materials and strategies.
• On -Call Support: Participate in on -call rotations to provide support for a 24/7 production environment.
