About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically-savvy Epic Billing Analyst to join our client's Revenue Cycle team. In this role, you will be the bridge between our financial operations and our IT infrastructure, ensuring our Epic EHR system is optimized to support seamless billing workflows and financial integrity. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the revenue cycle, a knack for troubleshooting complex system issues, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and administrative stakeholders. As an Epic Billing Analyst, you will focus on the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our Epic Resolute modules. You will ensure that our billing processes—from charge capture to payment processing—are efficient, compliant, and user-friendly.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (Associate’s degree with significant equivalent experience considered).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare information systems, with at least 2–3 years specifically focused on hospital or professional billing environments.
  • Certification: Current Epic Certification in Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) or Professional Billing (PB) is highly preferred. (Candidates must be willing to obtain/maintain certification as a condition of employment).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Epic work queues, collection agency workflows, and statement processing. Familiarity with MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Visio) is required.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot root causes of complex technical issues and document clear, scalable solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for training staff and presenting technical updates to non-technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • System Configuration: Build and maintain Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) or Hospital Billing (HB) modules, including charge routers, benefit engines, and claims processors.
  • Workflow Optimization: Analyze current billing workflows and data collection methods to identify bottlenecks and implement system-driven solutions.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary point of contact for end-users, resolving application errors and providing high-level technical assistance.
  • Implementation & Upgrades: Lead system upgrades, perform rigorous testing, and ensure all changes comply with industry standards such as ICD-10 and HIPAA.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Develop and generate custom reports to extract meaningful healthcare data, aiding in financial decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between IT, Finance, and Clinical departments to tailor the system to organizational needs.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system stability for our production environment.
