About The Position

The Application Analyst - Acute (ASAP ED/Care Everywhere) serves as the primary support contact for end-users of Epic software within the acute care setting specializing in the ASAP Emergency Department and Care Everywhere modules. This role involves identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise within the application area, as well as those affecting other application teams, working collaboratively to resolve them. The analyst will guide workflow design, build and test the system, and address technical issues related to Epic software. They will also handle the implementation of system changes based on user requests, acting as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and the Epic implementation team. Regular communication with Epic representatives is key, including participation in weekly project meetings. The analyst works closely with the organization's business community and end-users to ensure the system aligns with business needs, project deliverables, and timelines. By attending site visits and integrated sessions, the analyst develops a deep understanding of operational requirements and sets the direction for workflow development. This role includes troubleshooting, providing training to end-users, and maintaining regular status updates with leadership on project progress, deliverables, and concerns. Off-hours work and participation in on-call rotation are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Epic Certifications in one or more Epic applications (required within 180 days of hire)
  • Understanding of emergency department workflows and integration points, especially regarding patient movement ﴾ADT﴿ and charging
  • EHR Configuration and Build Experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems.
  • Entry level. Primarily focuses on basic system configuration, data entry, user training, and troubleshooting simple issues, and has foundational knowledge of healthcare processes.
  • Knowledge of system development methodology and principles of project management.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of clinical systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
