About The Position

MPS Group, Inc . is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Kokomo, IN. This individual assists with all onsite activities at client location in relation to the storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and other related services following federal, state and local regulations. Shift Details: Shift: 1st Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
Positive customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) certification.
Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Comply with MPS Group’s management system policies and procedures.
Receive hazardous waste, universal waste and non-hazardous waste from main production site to storage area.
Track waste storage containers in logbook from receiving until shipment.
Assist with wastewater treatment coverage as necessary.
Conduct regulatory inspections applicable to the facility.
Complete all other assignments made by GMCH management.
Help with waste sampling.
Assist with the upkeep of the ISO14001 EMS.
Assist with SPCC and SWPP plan inspections.
Assist with scrap metal, wood, plastic, paper, and cardboard activities, including but not limited to collection, segregation, optimization, shipping, and reporting.
Participate in compliance inspections.
Serves as liaison between client and vendors in relation to service issues.
Maintains pre-established standards for safety and environmental issues.
