This position will primarily be responsible for performing inspections, assessments and field sampling using various media and in various environments. This position will primarily be working in our environmental service lines with industrial hygiene being a secondary focus.

Requirements

  • Entry level position, 0-2 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance practices
  • Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening, including a background investigation, drug screening, and driving record check
  • Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk
  • Ability to perform strenuous field work including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing on ladders and roofing systems, and entering crawlspaces
  • Ability to work outside in frequent changes of temperatures
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull
  • Ability to work in environments containing dust, mold, and hazardous materials with safety gear
  • Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record
  • May travel overnight (less than 35%)
  • May work nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections, assessments and field sampling using various media and in various environments
  • Operates light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum, equipment, generators
  • Reviews and analyzes historical sources and data to generate reports
  • Performs basic calculations and computer data entry
  • Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records as required
  • Obtain and maintain asbestos and lead inspector licenses and perform inspections to identify and assess hazardous materials in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Accepts training and direction from Staff II and III, Lead Scientists, Practice Leaders, and Director
  • Other duties as assigned
