Spur Environmental Services is currently seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented, and safe Environmental Services Technician. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, is reliable, and is a go-getter who enjoys working outside with equipment daily. They manage time wisely, feel accomplished after a hard day's work, are decision-makers who like to be challenged, and consistently exercise sound judgment. The role involves learning new skills, being part of a team, and advancing within a growing company. A typical day includes arriving at the company yard or client site, preparing and testing equipment, stocking the industrial unit with all necessary supplies and PPE, and reviewing the daily agenda and safety plan with a Project Supervisor or Project Manager. The technician will safely mobilize to job sites, set up a tidy work zone, and don proper PPE to proceed with project assignments. Work involves using industrial power washers (4,000 - 40,000 psi) and supported vacuum equipment (Vac Trucks, Hydro Vacs, Porta-Vacs, Pumps, etc.) to clean pits, sumps, tanks/tankers, and trailers. Other tasks include sweeping, cleaning, and shoveling materials into appropriate waste packaging, and operating machinery such as forklifts, aerial lifts, skid steers, or loaders as needed. Ensuring a safe work area and looking out for team safety is paramount. Upon project completion, the work zone must be cleaned and left in better condition than when the team arrived. The technician will then demobilize back to the company shop, rehabilitate their industrial unit by re-stocking supplies, PPE, and small equipment and tools, and clean their unit and truck in preparation for the next day's tasks. The role also requires being prepared for rotational on-call needs throughout the night if scheduled.
