About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for an Environmental Specialist/Safety Officer. This position will be based onsite at two MES facilities located in Montgomery County, MD. The Environmental Specialist/Safety Officer provides project planning and technical support for environmental science, engineering, construction, and planning activities and services.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, ecology, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required, along with one year of experience in environmental science, regulatory compliance, engineering, or environmental management.
• An applicable advanced degree may be substituted for the required experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.

Responsibilities

• Providing onsite environmental compliance and safety support for MES operations.
