Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Environmental Safety & Health Specialist Intern. In this role, you will Support the Aeronautics Environmental Safety & Health Department through completion of various compliance tasks, site communications, ESH program enhancements and records management. Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently, prioritize work effectively, and adapt to changing responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies and experience applying structured problem‑solving techniques to investigate incidents, identify underlying causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, convey technical information, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, including workplace safety standards and compliance fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with EPA regulations, including basic environmental protection requirements and reporting standards.
  • Experience with metrics monitoring and reporting, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluating trends, and communicating results to support data‑driven decision-making.
