Job Summary: The Environmental Intern will support a variety of environmental and sustainability-related activities across compliance audits, system updates, and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental assessments, process improvements, corrective actions, and supporting documentation updates.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, especially in document management, environmental audits, and system updates.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and environmental compliance regulations (e.g., SARA Title III, SPCC).
  • Analytical skills for identifying process gaps, tracking waste, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and support improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new regulatory compliance standards, customer requirements, and environmental documentation practices.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data and reports.
  • Support rebranding and organization of controlled environmental documents.
  • Conduct hazardous chemical inventory analysis for regulatory reporting (e.g., SARA Title III Tier II).
  • Aid in updates to Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, and environmental compliance procedures.
