About The Position

The Omaha Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Manager will serve as the thought leader for ESG administration, measurement, and reporting across the Cohere Beauty enterprise with Site ownership for the Omaha facility.. The ideal candidate will have strong program management and leadership skills to focus efforts on research and analytics used to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly, safe, and compliant with government rules and regulations. Additionally, this person must have the ability to connect and motivate people towards a “zero incident” safety culture mindset. This role will also collaborate with other leaders to develop strategies and implement processes, and practices that reduce the organization’s carbon footprint, overall, fostering a healthy and safe work environment across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, advanced course work in safety-related disciplines required.
  • Minimum of five years related experience preferred; Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Experience aligning OSHA requirements with environmental compliance.
  • Experience developing or delivering OSHA-compliant safety training (I.e. for new hires or high-risk tasks).
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong global vision and openness to change.
  • Familiarity with Hazard Communication (HAZCOM).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.
  • Ability to work on-site.
  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to travel to all Cohere facilities with minimal advance notice.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% annually.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field is preferred.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA related courses are a plus.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all environmental, safety, and health concerns of the Omaha Site.
  • Create guidelines, checklists, policies, procedures, and other related program content to align with best practices and frameworks and enable organizational stakeholders to carry out and enhance programs.
  • Serves as SME for all Cohere facilities to identify and mitigate safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Supports enterprise-wide collaborative initiatives through project management, technical advisory, and coordinating functions and engagement for meetings, presentations, and training initiatives.
  • Leads all Platform-level safety and environmental investigations to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrences.
  • Develops, plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Prepares, schedules, and leads training/drills to cover key organizational emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Performs regular safety audits, records, and analyzes data, and informs leadership of findings.
  • Chairs the Omaha and Corporate Safety Committee and leads regular meetings to evaluate safety concerns.
  • Monitors Omaha Site compliance with local, state, and federal safety procedures and regulations. Assists other Site Safety Leaders with compliance.
  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, injuries, reports, and related correspondence.
  • Ensures that Safety Data Sheets are readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of/or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Serves as the primary organizational contact for external emergency response/notification agencies.
  • Works with contractors performing safety-related tests.
  • Perform pre/post-safety inspections for projects.
  • Monthly ESG Results reporting for Omaha and Corporate scorecards
  • Review Safety results in Monthly Town Halls and Monthly Business Review meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Leads new hire safety orientation.
