About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services/Custodial Manager 2 to oversee third-shift operations at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. This leader will manage the 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shift, Sunday through Thursday, ensuring consistent service quality, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of overnight EVS teams. UTMB Health spans four campuses with more than 800 licensed beds and includes a Level I Trauma Center, Blocker Burn Unit, Level IV NICU, pediatric specialty services, transplant programs, a certified comprehensive stroke center, TDCJ hospital services, and Magnet-recognized nursing care. The ideal candidate will bring hospital-based Environmental Services management experience, with a strong background in patient room cleaning, Operating Room and Labor & Delivery support, floorcare programs, and customer service. The hiring team will prioritize candidates who demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to lead independently on an off-shift, and a proven track record of maintaining high standards in complex, fast-paced healthcare environments.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • be responsible for driving client and patient satisfaction scores
  • provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and works closely with the Infectious Control department
  • work with the Environment of Care Committee and Infection Prevention Director
  • effectively manages the Unit Operating System
  • support a diverse and inclusive workforce
