The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Environmental Services Attendant JOB NUMBER: POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities Maintenance DEPARTMENT: Divine Providence Village FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt EEO CLASSIFICATION: Laborers and Helpers Essential Job Functions Maintains facility in sanitary and infection-free conditions through various deep cleaning activities to include but not limited to: o Vacuuming offices and conference rooms on a weekly basis. o Moping classrooms (daily), hallways (weekly), gym floor (weekly), staff lounge (2X per week) and gym kitchen (weekly). o Sweeping hall ways, gym floor, stairs daily, and the greenhouse weekly. o Deep clean foyer area and hall ways monthly (floors, doors, glass, wood work, door frames, thresholds, etc.) Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment in the course of daily work (e.g. vacuum, mop, polisher, buffer, etc.). Empties and removes all trash in all areas of the facility at minimum on a daily basis. Cleans bathrooms on a weekly basis. Ensures that paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer dispensers are stocked and filled throughout the day. Understands and uses the required Universal Safety Precautions. Handles and uses various cleaning solvents and chemicals while maintaining compliance with all required regulations (e.g. OSHA, EPA, State Department of Health, etc.). Plans and schedules cleaning activities accordingly to prioritize and accommodate all required tasks. Reports needed facility repairs to the Supervisors, Administrator, and Facilities Director at the Day Program. Documents these repair requests through WorkHub. Other Job Functions Performs routine maintenance repairs at the Day Program as needed. Maintains and promotes a safe, clean, and positive work atmosphere in accordance with our Core Values by behaving and communicating in a professional manner at all times in the presence of clients, co-workers, supervisors, and external stakeholders. Language Ability: Must be able to effectively understand, read, write, print legibly, speak and do the following using the English language: read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers is preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is not responsible for supervision of staff. Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must be able to move continuously during working hours and will spend the majority of time (at least 90%) in physically demanding activities. Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may face low exposure risks to blood borne pathogens, with a high exposure risk to hazardous materials.
