Our Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest performing Environmental Services teams in healthcare, and we are looking to add an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to our team to create a comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This position is responsible for the floor care on assigned units, including dusting, mopping, and buffing of hallways, patient rooms, and various shared areas on assigned units. Other duties include timely completion of associated discharge cleaning, cleaning, and disinfecting areas as requested, curtain hanging, UV, establishing rapport with patients, and working alongside fellow caregivers from other departments. The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works days from 9:00AM - 5:30PM or 10:00AM - 6:30PM, with on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms.
  • Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
  • Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
  • Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
