About The Position
Environmental Service Worker - Nights + Weekdays/Weekends & Holidays If you are ready to play a key role in the care and caring of our patients, explore the following position with our Environmental Services Team: Our housekeeping staff is essential to ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients and their families. From friendly smiles and conversations, to the continuous focus on infection control, our housekeeping professionals help to provide a positive experience for everyone within our hospital. Housekeepers maintain cleanliness and a culture of compassion, caring, warmth and support within our hospital. They interact with patients and their families, go beyond for patients and deliver superior customer service. This is a full-time night shift position including weekdays/weekends/holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital, located at 56-45 Main Street, Flushing NY 11355. The hours for this shift are 11:00pm to 7:00am. The shift includes weekdays, weekends and holidays and requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund. Weekends are required for the first 2 years on this team. After the first 2 years every other weekend is required.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience.
- Ability to read, write and follow specific oral and written instructions.
- Manual dexterity to perform housekeeping duties including moving and lifting heavy furniture and items.
Nice To Haves
- Qualified candidates have extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.
- Experience in the healthcare, hotel, restaurant or retail industry.
- A high school diploma or GED is highly desired, but not required.
