About The Position

The Environmental Service Colleague is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining an assigned area in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. This includes event and conference room set-ups. The role involves making timely rounds to pick up soiled, infectious waste, reusable patient care equipment, and instruments. The colleague is also responsible for segregating these items to their respective holding areas and for cleaning and reprocessing equipment and other reusable patient care items. Further tasks include the proper transporting and handling of hazardous chemicals to the designated storage area.

Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, and maintain an assigned area in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition
Perform event and conference room set-ups
Make timely rounds to pick up soiled, infectious waste, reusable patient care equipment and instruments
Segregate soiled, infectious waste, reusable patient care equipment and instruments to their respective holding areas
Clean and reprocess equipment and other reusable patient care items
Properly transport and handle hazardous chemicals to the designated storage area
