Were expanding our capabilities, our geography, and our teamand now is an exciting time to join us. We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Tampa office. What Youll Do: Youll support environmental projects across Florida, working both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities will include a mix of field investigations, data collection, reporting, and regulatory support. This role offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in environmental consulting within a multidisciplinary civil engineering firm. The position includes a balance of field and office work and provides exposure to a wide range of environmental permitting, compliance, and monitoring activities under the guidance of experienced environmental professionals. This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek during weekday business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or another natural science discipline (minimum GPA 3.0).
  • Valid Florida drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ArcGIS and/or CADD experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commercial Applicator License.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal and motor vehicle background checks.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of wetland plant identification, including invasive species, preferred.
  • ArcGIS and/or CADD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Wetland delineations.
  • Wetland mitigation site reviews and maintenance recommendations.
  • Wetland mitigation site monitoring.
  • Listed species surveys.
  • Field data collection using GPS equipment.
  • Submerged aquatic vegetation surveys.
  • Permit compliance inspections on active construction projects.
  • Preparation of reports for mitigation and construction inspections.
  • Data entry, basic data analysis, and database management.
  • Formatting and organizing information for reports.
  • Conducting research for projects.
  • Preparation of GIS exhibits.
  • Completing forms for permit applications.
