About The Position

As an Environmental Scientist, you’ll be a key technical contributor supporting environmental, geotechnical, and engineering projects from planning through completion. You’ll spend most of your time in the field (about 80%) conducting site assessments, sampling, mapping, and supporting safe, compliant project execution—while developing the skills to grow into more advanced responsibilities. This is an ideal role for an early-career scientist who enjoys variety, hands-on work, and solving real-world environmental challenges.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science
1–3 years of experience in environmental, Oil & Gas, or related field work
Working knowledge of environmental and geologic concepts
Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills
Comfort working independently in the field with limited supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites

Nice To Haves

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Experience with environmental remediation or geotechnical drilling
Familiarity with GIS or CAD tools
Field leadership or subcontractor oversight experience

Responsibilities

Conduct and support on-site environmental and geologic field activities
Plan and prepare for fieldwork (equipment, supplies, documentation—you’ll be ready)
Perform site reconnaissance, mapping, and soil, groundwater, and surface sampling
Support environmental and drilling permitting efforts
Assist with site plans, technical drawings, and data collection
Oversee subcontractors and field personnel as needed
Coordinate and support health & safety activities in the field
Prepare field notes, data summaries, and draft technical reports
Mentor and cross-train technicians
Balance multiple projects while maintaining safety, quality, and attention to detail
