Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist – Stormwater to work primarily in the field inspecting stormwater assets, overseeing maintenance and repair work, and supporting compliance with stormwater regulations. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who enjoy being outdoors and working directly with infrastructure. ~90% of the work will be field based.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology, or closely related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in stormwater work or environmental field roles.
• Familiarity with Maryland stormwater permits and regulations strongly preferred.
• Comfortable conducting field work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required for field travel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Majority of time spent in the field (~90%).
• Must provide your own transportation to/from field sites.
• Hybrid office access available as needed for training, reporting, and team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stormwater asset inspections and condition assessments at client sites.
• Oversee stormwater maintenance and repair activities; coordinate with subcontractors (you won’t be performing hands-on repairs).
• Support documentation of field activities and observations using company systems.
• Assist with reporting and data entry related to inspections and maintenance.
• Ensure work aligns with stormwater regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
