About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Power & Manufacturing – Environmental Team at our Atlanta, GA or Duluth, GA office. CHA’s engineers, ecologists and scientists partner with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs and cost. We’re uniquely qualified to assist with environmental services from initial site characterization through remediation. CHA draws on the expertise of technical professionals with decades of practical experience in environmental site assessment, brownfield remediation, and mitigation techniques. Our Environmental Scientist II is an expert with the company’s and client’s methods, standard operating procedures, reporting templates, and practices. At CHA, the professional in this role will conduct field work and as a result, prepare information to be utilized by managers, colleagues, and clients. While in office, this individual will work on data analysis, reporting, and completion of permits. Our Environmental Scientist II also participates in assessments, design concepts or components thereof, and perform comparative cost analyses. Our Environmental Scientist II plays an important role in evaluating the potential impact of federal, state and local environmental regulations. This key role also prepares critical information to be utilized in public information meetings and hearings. This individual will collect samples, provide drilling oversight, and construction operation assistance. Our Environmental Scientist II collects, analyzes, and reports on geological, hydrological, biological, or other scientific conditions at the proposed project site to identify the impact on the environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Valid US driver's license is required
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience required
  • EPA-accredited asbestos building inspector certification required
  • Demonstrates an interest in continued learning of the respective scientific discipline
  • Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel is required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditions
  • Must be able to physically navigate in the field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus
  • EPA-accredited asbestos project designer certification a plus
  • EPA Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor a plus
