Where You Will Work In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. What You Will Do Install, operates, and maintains environmental and emission monitoring instruments and testing equipment; analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements. Evaluate and assesses environmental risk and develops programs for risk reduction. Collaborate in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations. Review and/or prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications. Evaluate and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. Maintain basic working knowledge of national, regional and local environmental, occupational health, and other applicable regulations. Maintain knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures May provide leadership to less experienced Engineers and Technicians May serve as Project Manager or technical expert on small to medium-sized environmental projects (e.g., compliance, remediation, or reclamation) Lead or participate in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System Coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements. Track and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring To Freeport Environmental Scientist II: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related natural science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management) or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or, Business Management or other Bachelor’s degree, and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience. OR Environmental Engineer II: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in Engineering in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience. What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $85,000-$116,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. Requirements

Nice To Haves

Knowledgeable in Arizona Water Quality programs and regulations including APP, SWPPP, and SPCC.
Arizona certified Grade 2 Domestic Water Operator in both Distribution and Treatment.
Project Management experience.
Experience working with Operations and Maintenance personnel in industrial setting.
Software proficient in Enablon, EQuIS, and Microsoft Office tools.
