Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Geologist BB&E is an employee-owned, full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. Position Summary BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support AFCEC/CZP onsite at Lackland AFB, TX Job Duties & Responsibilities Provide scientific or technical guidance, support, and coordinate to governmental agencies and environmental programs. Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements. Review applicability of federal and state regulations including but not limited to Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Environmental policy Act (NEPA) related to Air Force operations at installations nationwide. Work closely with installation Regional Environmental Coordinators (RECs)/Regulatory Media Experts (RMEs) to support AFCEC missions. Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data and/or environmental regulatory activities. Prepare high-quality deliverables used for tracking and managing data. Evaluate and interpret data from multiple sources. Provide meeting support Requirements Key Qualifications U.S. Citizenship and theability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required Knowledge o Experience with State Legislatures and how to search in StateScape or another legislative program is required o Must have knowledge of prioritizing impacts in legislation for DoD Missions. o Must have knowledge of how legislation and regulations could impact the DoD Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Software: Proficiency using MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and portable document format (PDF) Self-Starter and Team Player: Highly motivated, with the ability to perform at a high level of quality with minimal supervision; ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team of individuals to meet the needs of our clients Experience & Education Experience: Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Physical Science, or Toxicology from an accredited university and have at least three (3) years of experience performing engineering and/or environmental duties related to Military Missions and Operation Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or environmental chemistry from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited college or university is required Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms Capable of lifting over 25 lbs.
