About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a full time Environmental Scientist (Compliance) for our Environmental Group located in our Richmond, VA office location. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for providing environmental compliance services associated with construction of data centers, residential developments, commercial properties, utility, and transportation development.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Environmental compliance (VPDES) inspections and reportingStormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and auditingCoordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetlands, erosion and sediment control and stormwater complianceBest Management Practices (BMP) construction monitoringVirginia Water Protection (VWP) construction monitoringThis individual must be highly motivated, a self-starter; flexible, detail-oriented, enjoy interacting with employees and clients; willing to work at a dynamic pace to complete tasks and meet deadlines; and share a commitment to our firm's vision, mission and shared.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in appropriate discipline
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
• Willingness to regularly travel regionally and out-of-state

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience performing Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater compliance inspections and reporting preferred
• Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater certifications preferred
