Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry, biology, natural resources, soil science or comparable field from an accredited school.
  • Asbestos credentials for MN or other states, including asbestos inspector and asbestos supervisor certifications, MDH 2-day air monitoring, NIOSH 582 and AIHA Asbestos Analysts Testing (AAT) proficiency for on-site PLM air sample analysis.
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in completion of asbestos inspection and asbestos abatement oversight and air monitoring.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Possess strong verbal communication, technical writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, ability to work alone or in group settings, and a demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience in environmental investigation, remediation, and/or brownfields redevelopment
  • Experience performing work under Minnesota state contracts (e.g., MPCA, MDA, MDH, MnDOT, etc.) is preferred.
  • Background in environmental investigation, remediation, brownfields redevelopment, or large-scale corridor Phase I/II ESAs is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with EIR field testing equipment (e.g., PID, YSI, peristaltic pump, vapor pin installation) is helpful.
  • Lead Risk Assessor credentials, XRF lead sampling or assessment experience are useful.
  • Proficiency with gINT geotechnical software and 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification are assets.
  • Rail safety certifications (E-rail safe or equivalent) are a plus.
  • Certification or interest in CHMM, CSP, PMP, PE, or PG licenses encouraged.
  • Safety-focused, organized, and collaborative with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee environmental investigation and remediation (EIR) projects, with 30%–70% field work based on the season; remaining time in-office preparing reports, proposals, and budgets.
  • Assist with asbestos and regulated materials assessments, abatement oversight, and air monitoring for demolition, renovation and roadway improvements projects.
  • Support environmental monitoring, site investigations, remedial investigations, and brownfields redevelopment.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews (Phase I/II ESAs) and remediation for public and private clients.
  • Provide construction oversight during response action plan (RAP) implementation.
  • Collect, tabulate, and evaluate environmental data.
