Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering materials testing and geotechnical consulting services for environmental industrial and infrastructure construction projects Headquartered in Denver CO Atlas currently has over 3500 employees with offices throughout the US including Alaska & Hawaii Its no accident that Atlas creates a better experience for infrastructure and environmental projects Its how we are built with the best people in the industry with the reach and expertise to help at any and every step of the project and with a heart led approach that puts quality and safety at the center of everything we do Were just built to be better We are a great company We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Raleigh NC team Come join us Job responsibilities include but are not limited to Supervision of technical staff including workload and staffing management Mentor and train staff and foster their professional developmentExperienced with performing site investigations for a variety of contaminant sources including landfill RCRA industrial brownfields retail petroleum and dry cleaning sites Retail petroleum experience preferredManagement and analysis of sampling data including summary tables result interpretation and sample location maps Preparation of assessment reports groundwater monitoring reports Conceptual Site Models Risk Assessment Reports and Risk Management PlansExperienced with field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling installation of soil borings and monitoring wells installation and sampling of soil gas monitoring points and indoor air samplingExcellent written and oral communication skills experienced with stakeholder communication and public speakingDemonstrate an understanding of vapor intrusion investigations at dry cleaning facilities and understanding current and emerging vapor intrusion practicesDemonstrate an understanding of the risk assessment process and experience performing risk assessments

Requirements

  • BS in Geology Engineering Environmental Science or related field
  • 10 years of related environmental consulting experience and local experience with regulatory agencies in North Carolina
  • Experience with the NCDEQ DSCA program preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and provided leadership to diverse teams
  • Proven Project Management experience prioritizing and delegating activities delivering on tight deadlines and within budget
  • Technical oversight of professional staff for environmental assessmentremediation projects
  • Valid drivers license and excellent driving record
  • Commitment to safety
  • Professional Registration PG or PE in good standing preferably in North Carolina
  • Microsoft PC applications; WORD EXCEL PowerPoint
  • Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements
  • Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on various private and government facilities
  • Ability to travel if so 20 of the time
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks

  • Retail petroleum experience preferred

  • Strong technical analytical and research skills
