Environmental Program Manager Role AWS Environmental is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. We tackle the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented individuals who want to help. You will: - Partner with AWS stakeholders to develop regional and site-specific development strategies for the construction and operation of AWS data centers and infrastructure. - Provide technical assistance and risk management support to construction managers and partner teams, and promote and manage environmental compliance during construction, specifically focusing on protection of sensitive environmental resources, wetland permit compliance and construction stormwater NPDES permit compliance (including erosion and sediment control). - Prepare for data center operations. - Engage regularly throughout the construction phase with multiple AWS stakeholders, including Real Estate, Legal, Risk, Water, Design, Public Policy, Construction, and Operational teams, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors. A day in the life The AWS Environmental Construction Compliance team manages the environmental requirements during data center and infrastructure development in the Americas. The Environmental PM will be a key member of the AWS Environmental team managing the construction phase of the projects. About the team Why AWS? Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, biology, or related discipline.
• 7+ years managing permitting, and compliance for new developments.
• 5+ years environmental construction oversight
• 3+ years erosion and sediment control managment during construction

Nice To Haves

• Data center or critical infrastructure construction, and/or or risk assessment experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in multiple states within the US.
• Experience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions.
• Experience with Smartsheets or other project management software.
• Up to 25% domestic travel
• Experience working with large teams on a diverse slate of projects.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and requirements and develop mitigations and strategies to support site-specific project delivery.
• Manage environmental compliance during construction, specifically focusing on wetlands permits and erosion and sediment control.
• Communicate environmental requirements, risks, and activities to internal and external project partners.
• Coordinate with partner teams including Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to manage construction and operational constraints.
• Develop site development strategies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable while meeting project timelines.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations.
• Develop, manage, and track metrics to evaluate project success.
