We are currently seeking an Intern to work with the Environmental team in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. The primary duties will be to support Senior Project Environmental Scientists and Engineers in a variety of tasks in the field of environmental design and compliance.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or similar field
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time accordingly
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn more while working on these challenges
  • Willingness to work in challenging outdoor environments, including high temperatures and steep terrain
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • State and federal environmental documentation (including NEPA preparation)
  • Socioeconomic analysis (including environmental justice)
  • Wetland delineations
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Stream assessments
  • Threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations and surveys
  • Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting
  • Periodic travel (including overnight) may be required when assisting with field work, as needed
  • Assist in conducting environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, evaluate and analyze terrestrial ecosystems including, but not limited to, riverine, wetland, and upland landscapes
