We also are doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.   The Waste Water Pretreatment Plant Operator is responsible for the Safety, Operation, Housekeeping, and Maintenance of the pretreatment plant. This includes managing the Screen room, Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit, Truck Bay, Pump room, Odor control, MCC, Retort Pond, all WWTP outdoor areas, Tote cleaning, Chemical skids and Tank levels, Tank farm, and Blower room. The operator ensures the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater, compliance with environmental regulations, and the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR 5 years’ experience in waste water management
  • 2+ years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including daily logs, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Respond promptly to any safety incidents or emergencies, following established protocols and reporting procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pretreatment plant and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
