We are seeking a strong and dynamic Environmental Operations Manager to lead our Texas environmental offices, which are comprised of experts in environmental consulting, solid waste engineering, remediation, industrial hygiene, due diligence, and related disciplines. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and driving operational success across these diverse fields. This role requires a strategic leader who can oversee all aspects of Atlas' Texas environmental operations, including: staff development, client relations, external business development, project and program technical excellence, and financial and P&L optimization.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree; MS degree a plus.
• Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) within the state of Texas is preferred.
• 10+ years of environmental consulting experience, including within the environmental compliance, remediation, industrial hygiene, building sciences, due diligence, brownfields, and related disciplines.
• 2+ years of strong, progressive consulting operations management experience within Texas.
• Technical experience in environmental compliance, due diligence, environmental remediation, and related services is required
• Proficiency in Office Suite and ERP software (preferably BST and/or Deltek).
• Demonstrated history of results-oriented business development and networking within professional organizations
• Familiarity and experience with environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, due diligence, environmental remediation, and related services
• Technical report writing and senior level review, strong knowledge of ASTM and other industry standards
• Strong leadership, advocacy, and negotiation skills with environmental regulatory agencies (federal/state/local)
• Project cost estimating/proposal preparation/bidding process
• Pursuit and tracking of opportunities, Statement of Qualification development and pursuit team development
• Ability to travel as necessary for job related and office oversight duties (approximately 20%).

Nice To Haves

• Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) within the state of Texas is preferred.
• MS degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Management Leadership: Collaborate with and mentor managers, ensuring effective leadership and operational excellence across all teams
• Geographic Coordination: Manage and integrate efforts across the four Texas environmental offices (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin).
• Financial Oversight: Evaluate business performance through analysis of financial statements and other performance metrics, ensuring budgeted profitability and operational efficiency.
• Staff Development: Collaborate and assist program and project managers to recruit, hire, and maintain a highly skilled and diverse staff, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strategic Vision: Provide market analysis and establish a clear strategic direction for Texas operations. Develop synergies with other regional Atlas offices and national accounts to expand the client base and secure future work.
• Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture both in the office and in the field, complying with Atlas' rigorous safety standards.
• Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of Texas offices, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.
