About The Position

The Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America business is currently searching for an Environmental Manager. This position will be based in our manufacturing facility in Menasha, WI. The Environmental Manager leads environmental compliance and improvement activities in all areas of the manufacturing facility (water, air, plant systems), providing professional knowledge and expertise to provide a clean and healthful environment. The work requires a professional knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment. Requirements

  • B.S. in Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related engineering or technical science field is desired
  • Five years experience in environmental compliance desired
  • Experience with state and federal air permitting helpful
  • Working knowledge of water treatment operations is helpful
  • Experience with Landfill compliance management
  • Able to function in a team based environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Good Communications skills
  • Excellent human relations skills

Nice To Haves

  • Broad knowledge of the paper making process is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support for environmental compliance at Essity facilities within Wisconsin
  • Apply professional engineering competence with specialized knowledge of EPA regulations
  • Regulate and enforce environmental engineering policies, programs or activities by establishing standards, promoting improvements, evaluating compliance and, if necessary, directing action to secure satisfactory results
  • Works with other North American operations to share best environmental practices
  • Creates, maintains, a direct and productive working relationship with the community and environmental agencies
  • Provides training to all employees on key environmental issues, environmental compliance, and environmental requirements
  • Performs analysis, prepares reports, maintains appropriate compliance reports, files required documents with various regulatory agencies within stated deadlines
  • Works closely with mill leadership and Essity Communications as needed with internal and external media requests
  • Ensure site is in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Support and carry out Essity’ s Environmental and Sustainability policies and goals
  • Develop and implement third party environmental certification, and permitting efforts for capital projects if needed.
  • Support safety manufacturing excellence efforts
  • Manage product safety and environmental portion of the Sites’ Chemical Approval process
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
