About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager will ensure the implementation and maintenance of all company environmental, health, and safety programs as well as serve as the main point of contact in providing guidance and leadership for compliance and training items within their scope.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of Workers Compensations, Osha, Safety, etc.
  • Available 24/7 as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of environmental, health, and safety experience in the food/agriculture industry or related experience preferred.
  • Standing/Walking for Extended Periods of Time
  • Bending, pulling, reaching, and lifting on an as needed basis.
  • Fine Motor Skills (typing/handling tools)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Safety Engineering/Management or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Management Team informed of Environmental, Health, and Safety Concerns or issues
  • Oversee Environmental Quality
  • Monitor Air and Wastewater
  • Monitor Health and Safety Regulations
  • Conduct Safety related investigations
  • Track Injury Trends and Develop Action Plans
  • Monthly Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulfide testing
  • Test Generator and Air Quality
  • Responding to Citizen and Government Complaints
  • Creating New Construction Permits
  • Provide training support to the company and ensure all required training courses are completed/scheduled
  • Manage internal Reports (Safety Walkthrough, Safety Team Correspondence, Training Records)
  • Manage External Reports (Complaint Notifications, Inspection Reports, Notices of Violations, Legal Documents)
  • Regulate Pollutants
  • Serve as the main point of contact when outside agencies come on-site to conduct annual assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
