About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Intern to be based in Hunt Valley, MD. This position is expected to begin in June 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Natural resource assessments, planning, regulatory compliance and permitting on projects in Maryland and across the Mid-Atlantic Area. Support routine wetland and waterway delineations and associated reports and permitting. Participate in natural resources fieldwork. Prepare written and graphic reports. Prepare basic data and scientific documents. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous internship experience is a plus.
  • Experience with GIS is a plus.
