Gravure Ink, a division of Patrick Industries is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist. This key role is responsible for the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across the facility, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. The EHS Specialist will lead the Company’s EHS Management System—our framework for environmental, health, safety, and social risk management, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing environmental impact, and embedding a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.

This role requires regular travel between Gravure’s two operational sites:

One week per cycle will be spent at the Bensenville, IL location
The alternate week will be spent at the LaPorte, IN locationThis alternating schedule ensures active, hands-on leadership and consistent EHS engagement at both sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to manage multiple initiatives and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated success in driving cultural change and building consensus.
• Willingness and ability to travel weekly between Bensenville, IL and LaPorte, IN facilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a printing press operation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver regulatory and internal safety training programs.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Develop and distribute timely Safety Alerts.
• Collaborate with plant leaders and staff to identify safety issues and implement corrective action plans.
• Partner with departments to design and enhance safety programs (e.g., Lockout/Tagout procedures).
• Promote and sustain a culture of safety and productivity throughout the workplace.
• Manage the workers’ compensation program, including claims tracking and resolution.
• Lead, implement, and audit EHS monitoring and measurement plans; train staff and interpret complex data to drive improvements.
• Act as a key liaison between employees and management on all EHS-related matters; foster open communication, resolve concerns, and cultivate safety engagement.
