As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will establish and lead programs that protect people, property, ensure compliance, and support our mission to scale NdFeB magnet production responsibly. This role ensures that Vulcan meets and exceeds regulatory and corporate safety standards in a complex manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years EHS experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA requirements, and hazardous materials management
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar safety/environmental management systems a plus
  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or OSHA 30 desirable

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to design, build, and commission a 1M+ sqft NdFeB production facility
  • Develop and implement EHS programs covering OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable standards
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational health regulations
  • Manage improvement projects across multiple facilities, collaborating with engineering and operations to ensure total project success
  • Lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, and corrective action programs across all manufacturing operations
  • Establish training programs and safety culture initiatives for all employees
  • Manage reporting, permitting, and inspections related to air emissions, waste, chemical handling, and hazardous materials (NFPA, EPA, DOT, etc)
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans
  • Partner with leadership and employees to foster a culture of proactive safety and continuous improvement with buy in from all levels of the business
