About The Position

GTI Fabrication is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to oversee and drive all safety and environmental compliance initiatives across our Buffalo, NY locations. This role will be responsible for cultivating a best-in-class safety culture while ensuring strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The EH&S Manager will work cross-functionally with operations, HR, and engineering to standardize safety programs and ensure safe working conditions for all employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of EH&S management experience in a manufacturing, energy, or industrial setting.
• Deep knowledge of federal and state OSHA programs (including Arizona State OSHA and NY DOL/PESH).
• Experience managing environmental reporting and compliance for multi-site operations.
• Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.
• Proven track record in fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications preferred: CSP, CHMM, OSHA 30/40, First Aid/CPR, RCRA, HAZWOPER.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and continuously improve GTI’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across NY sites.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA (Federal and State plans), EPA, NYDEC, ADEQ, and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine facility inspections, safety audits, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments; implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records, permits, SDS documentation, and reporting in compliance with applicable laws and company standards.
• Lead incident response and investigations, drive root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
• Manage environmental compliance including air quality, waste management, stormwater, hazardous materials, and emissions reporting.
• Provide EHS training to employees, including onboarding, annual refreshers, and job-specific training (forklift, LOTO, HazCom, etc.).
• Partner with operations leadership and team leads to ensure safety is embedded in daily workflows and new project planning.
• Maintain KPIs, dashboards, and EHS metrics; present trends and action plans to senior leadership regularly.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all regulatory inspections, audits, and external reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with HR and facilities teams on wellness, emergency preparedness, and return-to-work programs.
